FIELD JACKET M-1943 | Olive

Developed as the direct successor to the M-1941, the M-1943 Field Jacket was the U.S. Army's answer to a mounting problem: too many specialist uniforms for too many climates. One jacket, worn as the outer shell of a full layering system, was meant to do the job of several.

The cut is deliberately loose to leave room for what's worn underneath, and the collar carries over the M-41's design - stand it up and fasten the throat tab, and it closes off the wind almost completely. Four bellows pockets sit within easy reach, doing away with the need for a separate pack, and every button on the front placket and pocket flaps is hidden, so nothing snags on webbing or gear worn over the top.
