INDI + ASH

Founded in Brooklyn by Matt Aprile, who spent years as a chief designer at Ralph Lauren, INDI + ASH is built around a quieter kind of luxury. The work starts with the yarn, spun by hand and woven slowly on traditional looms, then coloured with natural dyes drawn from plants such as indigo and madder. No two pieces come out quite the same.

Everything is made together with artisans in India whose skills have been handed down through families, in partnerships based on fair pay and mutual respect rather than one-off production runs. It is a slow, deliberate process, and it shows: natural fibres, tailored silhouettes and a palette drawn from the earth rather than a colour chart.
