Mooncastle is a Japanese knitwear brand founded in Osaka by the third generation of a family with roots in knit manufacturing dating back to 1966. Building on decades of technical knowledge and factory expertise, the brand brings together traditional knitting craftsmanship with a clean, modern design approach.  

All Mooncastle garments are produced at the company’s own factory in Osaka, where the entire process - from yarn selection and development to knitting and finishing - is carried out in-house. This close control of production allows for a high level of precision and consistency across the collection.  

Working with carefully selected yarns such as Swiss Ice Cotton and fine Australian merino wool, Mooncastle focuses on well-constructed knitwear designed for everyday use. The result is a considered collection of understated garments defined by quality materials, thoughtful construction, and a clear manufacturing heritage.
