HANSEN GARMENTS SS22 - SPRING SUMMER COLLECTION

At HANSEN Garments, we have always prioritised a less trend-driven and more time-driven approach. Classic and straightforward clean-cut lines with a depth to each collection that outlives the seamlessly endless trend cycles we're surrounded by.

After almost two years of lockdowns and limited interactions, we are looking forward to the spring and summer without restrictions. Therefore, our latest collection is all about our love of being outside and appreciating nature and freedom.

Our collection aims to inspire a sense of adventure and draws strongly our natural surroundings here n Copenhagen. We created clothes that are functional, versatile, and kind to our environment. With a less is more mindset, the right garments are key to us striving to be more responsible. Much like nature, we aim for our garments to withstand time's test and weather the elements.

The many layers, textures, and colours that you can find in nature inform the mood for our new collection. Dominated by natural fabrics such as linen and cotton, as they are durable, breathable, soft fabrics, we love them for their comfort, functionality and durability. Our seasonal colour palette draws inspiration from the tones encountered outdoors: the greens of flora and fauna, the blues of the water, and the browns of stone.

A highlight for our SS22 collection is, without a doubt, the several eye-popping, vibrant Japanese fabrics we incorporated into some of the pieces.

NEWCOMERS FOR THE GOOD WEATHER

VILLY is a loosely fitted short-sleeved shirt with a cutaway placket. We made a unique Japanese cotton variant of this shirt - it has a texture with an inspiring message. Sashiko, also called Rice Grain Stitch, is a form of decorative reinforcement stitching or functional embroidery from Japan.

Traditional Sashiko was used to reinforce points of wear, or to repair worn places or tears with patches giving a new life to old clothes. Visible mending is the antidote to fast fashion, and instead of seeing clothes as disposable, it values sustainability and longevity. Those values are essential to our brand.

VILLY and ROBIN are a match made in heaven. ROBIN is a super-wide cut, knee-length pair of shorts. Both pieces come in a sturdy linen-cotton Italian canvas, which, when looked at closely, reveals the natural dotted fibres in the canvas. This characteristic happens due to the remains of the seeds from the flax plant. The garments come in an undyed and over-dyed version: Flax Nature and Oxidized.

UTILITY REIMAGINED

SS22 also features new designs like HEKTOR, ASLAK and KARLO, inspired by the outdoors and military tailoring. The most significant benefit of utility wear is functionality. However, that doesn't mean it has to be a trade-off between functionality and style. If you are unsure if this style is right for you, start by basing your look around a simple utility vest. HEKTOR is a military-inspired, loosely fit utility vest with plenty of pockets, front, back, and inside in various sizes.

inspired loosely fit jacket, and KARLO, a wide cut pleated trouser with a heavy black cotton ribbon belt. All three come in a mid-weight Italian cotton canvas, in two colour options: Khaki and Green

BREEZy SHIRTs FOR THE SUMMER

MARIUS was introduced in our summer collection 2 years ago, and we enjoyed it so much that we wanted to keep it in the collection for a while. Tailored to be the perfect summer shirt, it is easy to style with elegant and more relaxed looks. We believe it will stick around for years to come and hopefully become a signature piece like HENNING and JONNY.

In 2022 we released it in tones like the Terracotta and Hay to match the earthy colour palette that dominates the collection.

If you fancy an effortlessly elegant look, pick ANTE or HAAKON in the new Silver colour or go for our bestselling HENNING in Eucalyptus. All shirts come in classic White as well for those gentlemen out there.

COATS FOR COOLER NIGHTS

Experiencing the changing seasons is a part of the charm of Danish weather, and that weather can be a bit unpredictable, so a timeless trench coat comes in handy.

Designed to protect military soldiers while in the trenches – where it gets its name from – those same soldiers continued to wear them when they returned home, cementing their place in fashion history.

Our MORTEN trench coat is a long, regular fit, military-inspired coat. For Spring/Summer 2022, the look comes in 3 colours inspired by the great outdoors: Deep Sea, Dark Sage, and Sand.

We sourced a high-density cotton canvas from one of the best outerwear suppliers in Scotland. It is water repellant and will protect you from wind and rain for years to come.

Our new Denim Like Scarecrow coat, MIKAEL, will be your match if you are looking for a lighter coat for those cooler summer nights. We used a

yarn-dyed Italian fabric with a cotton and silk composition. The result is really unique; the structural surface has a denim-like appearance.

ICONIC PIECES WITH UNIQUE MATERIALS

How can we talk about our SS22 without mentioning our iconic piece: JONNY short-sleeved shirt?

This piece always appears in our collections, each time reinvented through different fabrics, patterns, and colours, and SS22 is no exception. Our 50s inspired shirt this time comes in 4 colours you don’t want to miss as we have them in a limited amount. JONNY in Dobby White, Dobby Indigo, and Eucalyptus are the staple pieces you will wear for years to come.

On the other hand, JONNY in Multi Colour is a statement piece and will be the first thing in our suitcase when heading off on your well-deserved travels. This complex Dobby fabric is made in Japan and has a handful of different stripes, checks, and herringbone due to the weaving method. Dobby Weave is a small design requiring 25 different warp arrangements to complete one repeat design! This limited-edition design is definitely a star of our SS22 collection.

CASUAL SUITING SELECTION

Another great suit from our SS22 collection is our Bay Leaf suit. As we celebrate nature and the outdoors we created something that somehow remind us of a tropical safari suit. It consists of our well-known CHRIS Classic Two-Button Blazer that is a perfect piece to wear on its own or combined with the SUNE WIDE CUT Trousers and DANIEL Classic Waistcoat.
