HIDDEN BEAUTY
“THERE ARE ALWAYS FLOWERS FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO SEE THEM.”
- HENRY MATISSE
True style need not shout loud. Sometimes the most beautiful things are hidden away or, at least, take a moment or two to discover. HANSEN has always loved the allure of subtlety and the appeal of something that whispers rather than screams and, for AW25, this quiet exploration forms the backbone of the collection.

The colour palette reflects the season with a range of deep grey, dark brown, navy and almost-black but there are rays of light too in soft pink, vibrant rust and tones of opal and jade.
Look closer at the fabrics though and they begin to reveal a richness and complexity that eluded the first glance. Slubs of yarn add visual interest to plain coloured knitwear and what appeared to be classic plaid shirting has, on further inspection, a rustic textural surface.
Over-dyed herringbone in subtle contrasts gives a depth to cotton workwear and broken twill on a zip-neck over shirt suggests the patina of a vintage find.
Compositions surprise too: a classic tweedy suit is in fact made from a cotton blend giving a contemporary twist to an old favourite.

Further discoveries happen when a garment is worn. The comfort of a well-washed work jacket in bull twill, the weight of a double-gauze pair of drawstring pants or the lightness of a technical quilted blazer may surprise and delight.
Details to add a layer of interest: a jacket opens to reveal striped lining or bold cotton twill binding. A stand out coat in a patchwork of left-over wool checks leads the gaze in multiple directions, each piece is unique in its combination of fabrics.
And, for those who really want to see flowers, take a longer look at the jacquard jacket where solid black reveals itself to be, in fact, an allover floral display of different textures.
After all, beauty is where you find it.

As always, all garments are produced in Europe and all fabrics and trims are made of natural materials. We carefully seek out craftsmanship that we think is rooted in the deep aesthetic values that we value. Historic traditions are paired with contemporary techniques and infused with soul and a drop of rational nostalgia.
These fabrics and garments took time to make so please take your time to enjoy them.
