KAPITAL | MAKANAI
Ecru Boa Fleece Jacket
- 100% Polyester / 100% Nylon
- Loose fitting jacket
- China buttons
- Made in Japan
This jacket from KAPITAL mixes soft material and cheongsam. Cheongsam, or qipao, is a close-fitting dress which originates from the 1920s Shanghai. The cheongsam quickly became a phenomenon within fashion and it is symbol of liberation of Chinese women in the 20th century.
MAKANAI means "Staffmeal" which is a meal you cannot find on the menu of a restaurant, but is cooked only for the staff by the chef. MAKANAI is also used for professionals making something for themselves or their colleagues instead of the customers, which could propose that this jacket was originally made only for the people at KAPITAL and not to be sold. If true, the story has changed.
The jacket is very roomy and warm to the touch, with plenty of space for a woolen sweater underneath. A clean design with China buttons and a seasonal feeling.
